Oil and Gas Prospects in Cambodia Overview of status of current exploration and future plans for oil and gas development and production For Cambodia, the past few years have been a time of political stabilization, economic growth and social development. The petroleum sector is seeing the benefits of these developments. In December 1998, the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) formed a new governmental authority, the Cambodian National Petroleum Authority (CNPA) o supervise both upstream and downstream activities within the Cambodia’s petroleum industry. This overview of Cambodia's energy policy was presented by H.E. Mr. Ho Vichit, Vice Chairman of the Cambodian National Petroleum Authority, at the ASEAN Energy Business Forum 2006, 26-28 July 2006, Vientiane, Lao PDR.
